considering that they’re living in an apocalyptic world where resources are scarce and conditions are harsh, it’s not okay, but understood. if he made an exception for him, that’s setting a bad example. he has to be be strict by the rules if he wants everyone to follow the rules that were set in place for their survival and sense of community. it’s definitely unfortunate, but it’s what had to be done
