This is clearly a Stockholm syndrome narrative and that is just gross. I related to the main character Tsukasa because I too lost my sweet dog Joey and I miss him dearly everyday. But it's clear that Kotaro was a product of abuse and never experienced love before and therefore he's developed an obsession with Tsukasa. You can pretty much how this story is going to end without reading every chapter.
