we haven’t got full insight into their relationship back then but I’m assuming he could’ve had something like a saviour complex with haesoo bc they did hint at the house they lived in together being her way of escaping her abusive house hold, so eventually he may’be felt like Haesoo owed him something rather the effort of moving her out being out of unconditional love, which when you treat your relationship as a business transaction it’ll go down south. And I think when you start dating in highschool, usually it doesn’t last long bc teenagers r insecure, don’t take relationships too seriously at that age and nothing from highschool ever lasts long, yes there’s occasional highschool sweethearts but that’s rare. I think because they dated from such a young age they could’ve been in love with the idea of each other rather than the individual themselves, and out of some attachment formed from how he’d save haesoo from her household they stuck together
