this whole comic makes me feel both comfort and uneasiness. i can’t tell if the last few panels are supposed to reassure the readers that there’s nothing going on with the brother or if it’s meant as set up for a plot twist in Volume 3. a lot of the strange things Tago says and does can be logically reasoned with. For the punishment game, google says it’s commonly played as a prank among young boys in Japan because it causes pain, kinda like getting kicked in the balls. So his comparison to it probably means that that’s the closest thing he can compare to what’s currently happening since he’s never done anything sexual with anyone before. He’s kissed before but that could just be from family when he was younger or from a girl in his class since he’s quite the looker. As for the reenactment, it could be because of blindness and teenage hormones, coupled with not wanting the parents to know they’re watching porn. I’m pretty sure his “child” is a reference to his porn collection. And his closeness to his brother could be because Toga in actuality doesn’t have any friends aside from Ogi. There was this one chapter (too lazy to look for it) where Toga asks if the people Ogi talked to were his friends. Ogi says that they’re his HS classmates, to which Toga replied with ‘wouldn’t that make them ur friends?’ (something like that). So while Toga says he has friends, no he does not. i could be very wrong about a lot of these points. Still, i’m excited to see how Volume 3 will pan out. Tago looks to be more and more in love each chapter, but Ogi doesn’t seem thrilled about their cohabitation. If the author does decide to go darker with the brother subplot, i hope it’s executed well. but otherwise, please clear up any misunderstanding on that! every time the brother shows up, i don’t know what i’m supposed to feel, especially since Toga seems to have a pained expression when talking about his brother (flashback; at Ogi’s house)
also, to note, the official translation has both MCs as 18. the fan translation probably got a poor quality raw for chapter 1 and mistaken the 18 for a 16.

a bit controversial, but i think something must have happened to the ex as a kid. there’s no way a kid would do that to another kid; it’s gotta be a learned behavior. maybe that’s part of the reason his family moved from Tokyo and why he stayed in Hiroshima for work. i’m not condoning what he has done, but it’s a bit scary to think how his views became so skewed at such a young and impressionable age; he seems to be only 1-2 years older than Toru. if this happens to be the case and if the author decides to create a spin-off, i hope we can see the ex unlearn his toxic behaviors and become a better person.

I didn’t think much of this quote until I read Takara’s POV from ch6. Then I had an epiphany. Let me cook for y’all ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
Based on his demeanor towards love, you would think Takara has more dating experience than Taishin. Naur, naur, naur. This couldn’t be further from the truth. This dude has never dated once in his entire 20 years of living. And I bet my left pinky on this.
Let me break it down for you. His personality is the type to hold onto something the moment he gets invested in it (ch6: “Takara, you’re quite straightforward when it comes to things you like.”). He’s never given up on any of his interests (ch6: “I’ve been collecting marbles since I was in first grade. But I’ve never thrown any of them away.”) So if he has even the slightest interest in someone, he will fall hard for that person. Taishin wouldn’t even be able to butt in (ch6: “If I were to like someone, what would it feel like? If that happened, would I want to hide them then, and keep them all to myself and never let them go?”). Therefore, this quote from ch4 is Takara’s declaration of love. He fell for Taishin the moment their eyes met (ch6: “They were sparkling and quivering… reflecting only me. But I couldn’t just pick them up. They weren’t marbles.”). So when Taishin asked Takara to go out with him (he didn’t exactly ask lol), it was Takara’s way of asking permission to turn his like into love (ch3: “But I might not be able to act as if nothing happened. I don’t know what I will do about you in the future. Maybe I’ll treat you as a schoolmate with whom I don’t get along. And I won’t care about you this much, right?”). He knew if they date, he would eventually reach 100%. It was only a matter of time. In conclusion, Takara is unexpectedly romantic ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄
