In summary from what i understand: Yiyi dropped college to take up acting, but his family was worried about him being an actor and unable to have a child. So yiyi made a bet with them if he does get famous when he reached 25 he'll do whatever they want. So in the yiyi is almost 25 but he hasnt made a big name in entertainment industry. So his friend recommend him about going abroad to get surrogacy to solve the child thingy his parent was nagging him about. So Yiyi went abroad had a son via surrogacy.
But jinyao (ml) was looking for a parent who'd take care of his child. So he was looking into the files of people who was applying for surrogacy in the institution?hospital?, and yiyi was the only asian who applied. So jinyao chose him. then they swapped sperm donated by yiyi with jinyao's.
As for why jinyao did it. Seeing his state at that time...he's in a hospital room and was using wheel chair for sometime, so i guessed he got into some accident that was caused by his uncle or some other people who wanted to take over the family. So i think jinyao wasnt positive he'd be safe alive until he is able to succeed the family.
it's important he get a child to continue the family lineage, especially since his father was the first child of the grandfather and jinyao is the only child. And they had this birthmark thingy that can only be passed to one person which is the first born. So even he got another kid it's wont have as much value like rourou.
So to escape the eyes of his uncle and ensure that child will be safe until jinyao succeeded the family, he went as far as discreetly swapping yiyi's sperm with his and having yiyu, an unrelated person, take care of his child.
Then so now that he was able to succeed the family, the uncle had started looking into the hospital where rourou was born, so jinyao had decided to take rourou back as to protect him.
I guess jinyao did look down on yiyi a little bit, not because he's an actor. But rather he thinks yiyi is an unreliable parent, not only he's yet to make a name for himself he's unable to juggle his career and childcare. Jinyao is more of a realist, where he thinks it's been years since yiyi became an actor and he still yet to be successful, he should have just changed and pursue another career. So i think that's why he tried to block yiyi's career??
Well the latest chap posted had some missing pages. But it can be seen all throughout jinyao has been observing yiyi and rourou (saving their pics and all (づ￣ ³￣)づ), and discreetly sending some supplies like high quality diapers for rourou.
