The translation quality has always been bad. However,
I do know that chinese is one of the more difficult languages to translate into english. I'm not sure, but it seems like they translated the words literally, and gave very few fucks towards the structure or flow of the dialogue. They probably have multiple projects to translate, and minimal staff. That's without even mentioning the fact that they're doing it for free and in their spare time. Just read it a few times.
