There's one thing I don't get, is that if the king loved edwards mother why doesn't he like edward? And if he plans on making edward his heir why is he treated so badly? I think the King's plan is to seperate himself from his lover and his son to avoid getting hurt or killed by the queen. He also couldnt divorce the current queen bcs of some political shit. He has to do it this way in order to protect his beloved family, he has to interact more to his current wife and his other adopted son to, just like I said earlier, to avoid the chances of his precious family from being killed.
(This is just what I think it is, according to what I learned to other historical manhwas. Usually this kind of conflict is common, idk about this one but it kinda make sense if you ask me)
