I had previously read this thinking the rape scenes were necessary to see the mc’s pain, now looking back I can see the authors fetishisation of sexual assault. A really good example of capturing sexual assault in a manhwa without romanisation is “Bongchons bride” which in my opinion does not leave you feeling uncomfortable in sense of it feeling ‘sensual’ to the readers.

Wow, genuinely what story. This is 100% going in my favourite manhwa list. Every single part of this story was so well thought out that I honestly didn’t skim over any text, wanting to know more details so I didn’t miss out on anything - super rare of me to do. The art, the emotions and the overwhelming happiness. I loved how well thought out the bartering system was and the concepts of power being displaying in so many ways (family, hierarchy, lovers etc.,)
I also felt like the half brother SA scene was necessary since it was inevitable, not saying I didn’t scream and lowkey cry, but I most definitely understood the purpose of that scene in threshing out the horrific and unfortunately realistic part of incest and power dynamics. Sensitive to seeing it though so I skipped a lot of it. ONLY WISH we saw more of how that affected the soongap

Always I’m leaving this as a note to self: this is a must reread and DO NOT read it during ur exams again you will suffer as you already have :) happy ending 9.4/10
