This reminds of my experience from the other day where I was talking about martial arts/murim/wuxia novels/comics with a dude I know. He's p chill on most things but when I brought up this series and a rare few other ones where they treat female characters p equally to male characters, and don't sexualise them (just bc they're women), his reply was "yeahh but after reading so many it just becomes part of the genre, y'know?" (Paraphrasing a bit but the same idea) While i kind of get where he is coming from, I just... nah. When I've gotten taste of the good ones it becomes harder to overlook just how differently female characters are treated in the action genre

Honestly I came in this site to escape from reality, and cheating is too close to the reality I live in, so reading a story about cheating really brings me back to the reality that I'm loving in. And I think that's why most people are very triggered by this story.
Rapes and Abuse isn't AS common as cheating, atleast in terms of my country. Cheating is a common thing to see and a common thing that people do, so seeing a cheating story only brings back the reality that we try to avoid, which is the reason why some read in the first place, to escape from a reality.
Maybe for some, this story just hits too close to what they want to avoid about from reality, and what they avoid in themselves.
