Men, this battle was sooo much longer in the novel. They cut out alot of parts in this. They tried other method, they ran away, and meltier offered many options of how the MC could escape, some includes sacrificing the others while only the mc survive. The plan they showed here is literally a last ditch effort. But that intense decision making and initial fear wasn't really shown. Ig the animation team wants to fast the pace of the story.
I knew I wasn’t crazy yeah the novel was way more intense and I think this is where they start rushing not just this arc but a lot of other stuff in the future
