It's not normal, but then again, before this MD never actually proposed to Chanwoo. Chanwoo and the new guy are specifically talking about dating AFTER rejecting MD and the new guy suggests getting permission from MD in the first place instead of blindsiding him at a time when Chanwoo will be physically and mentally vulnerable and at MD's mercy.
Unfortunately, the new guy is trash but what Chanwoo feared, MD retaliating DURING THE PLAY is EXACTLY what happened. MD used BDSM to punish the guy who rejected him which is a big NO-NO.
