you are mostly not bothered by the s]lap. I kinda am. Can someone explain to me why they think its okay. I feel like Im missing something.
It is not okay but I think Owen slapped the lady to diffuse the situation and thus save her. The men in the room were arrogant unpleasant people in very high positions and they had no qualms in abusing women. The more condescending they are to women, the more their egos are massaged and they get absolut pleasure from it. The woman made the man feel belittled and that was dangerous for her. Had Owen confronted the man in that audience, it would have been problematic for both of them because he would be challenging the superiority of all the men in the room. They would have both been severely punished. They were both caught in a really bad position and that is why he asked the lady to apologise. Sometimes one is caught in such a bad situation that inspite of being right and not having done anything wrong, one apologises. The lady refused though because she viewed the situation from a naive point of view but Owen has dealt with these type of men before and he knows the consequences that would arise for the woman. Owen had no option but to act in way that would keep the bosses feeling like they still maintained their superiority. It is sad but he had to use violence in a mild form and the only option was a slap. Owen does later confront the man and deals with him thus saving the lady and other future ladies from being drugged and ending up as victims of rape and abuse from the man. I think that the end result in proportion to the slap may be viewed as fair. Not that I agree with any form of unneccesary violence.
He did it to make the situation better for the girl because the room was filled with immature man who only think about themselves so he was saving her to get her out of the room and teach the man a lesson in the process it wasn't right but he had to to get her out of the situation and he deals with men like those all the time so it's the best way to handle it he knows what kind of situation the girl would end up in if he had just let her go

I don't dislike any of these characters and the story is messy just like real life. The charcters are all flawed , lovable and sexy at the same time. This is probably my fav manga right now.
