For anyone considering reading this: the raws go up to chapter 22 and the last update was months ago. Season 1 was supposed to end on 28-30 chapters, but after the author announced that in their note (late february 2025), there has been no more news. The author also said in the note that they're struggling with their health and were supposed to get (eye) surgery, but a c-netizen on xiaohongshu said the author announced on weibo that they will be taking commisions late 2025 to early 2026 and that they've apparently been to comic conventions as well. The author has previously discontinued one of their manhuas according to the c-netizen.
All this to say that it is very possible this manhua will be (or already has been) discontinued as well. However, until we have confirmation, it is possible that it will continue. I should mention that I have nothing against the author and they have every right to not continue with this manhua for any reason. I'm just letting the few people, who find this know what's going on.
The author wrote in their note that there will be side stories, BUT the author's note was published at the end of december 2023 and the side stories were said to drop "in the first half of next year". Sadly nothing has been published and as far as I'm aware no news on them either. Oh yeah next chapter is the finale btw.
Honestly, I think it's fair to want more verse (and switch!) couple representation. Most queer men are verse or have at least tried both roles, but like 90% of BLs have exclusive top/bottom couples. I don't think that every couple should be verse (nor that this couple should definitely be verse), but how disproportionate it is to real life is giving heteronormative and fetishization (which is a whole can of worms ).
Although it's definitely weird how people want the couple to be verse only when they are both buff. Some people definitely demand it just to fit their personal preference rather than considering the characters' dynamic. I feel like they're seen as "equals" in the relationship and are both often portrayed as "having top energy" (aka from how they look, there isn't a portrayal of your stereotypical top and bottom), which means they both are seen to have the potential to be on top — something a stereotypical BL couple doesn't have.
