The story seems to be good but I don't know how I feel about her and her master. She seems to like him but he basically raised her since she was an infant. I'd breathe a sigh of relief of a potential ML shows up later.

Reading the comments I can imagine getting bored of them if I was reading this one chapter at a time and I probably wouldn't pick it up again until it's over. Some stories are like that better enjoyed back to back.

You can actually read the novel. I firstly read it when I watched the donghua and there was nothing else left. It was such a heart wrenching story I cried so many times but such a beautifully written story. English translations are easily available online.
