depends on what you like... there is rape, I'd say the from-strong-soldier-to-weak-bitch kind of character "development" and many "just why...." moments. i was disappointed but maybe you will like it so give it a try

but it really is a worth read
it can complicated with the names, titles, and nicknames
chinese also has many idiom that are hard to directly translate.
the story may be a little confusing with the time line going back n forth
but the story is worth it

Omggg yess definitely read the novel!! It's even more detailed and has r18 scenes, but even without that you can really witness LZ and WWX love(▰˘◡˘▰)
It has 113 chapters + 13 extra chapters. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do(๑•ㅂ•)و✧

He Qing will go missing. Xiao and 1 soldier will look for him. When Xiao found He Qing, he's unconscious. They hid in a cave bec the enemies are looking for He Qing. Xiao told the other soldier he will distract the enemies and to make sure to hide He Qing. Xiao sacrificed himself and was caught and tortured by the enemies. But before that, he made sure to tell the soldier to let He Qing know how Xiao feels about He Qing since they might not meet again.


It was more painful when I read the novel but still it's a happy ending

Currently in the novel we just started the angstiest arch after the goddarn sweetest one. We can basically feel the ending coming because of how high this is climbing but we still can’t see how it’ll end hahaha

Anyways, we’re currently crying rivers, but it’s okay, it’s gotten really really interesting nonetheless with an unexpected new twist hEh

Btw between this current arch and where the novel is there’s still I believe one wave of angst/fluff as a transition, so there still stuff to go through
