How are Jian and Jitae's mothers related to each other? Are they sisters? Is Jitae's grandfather their father?
I believe Suryeon, Jian's mother, is Jitae's stepmother. At least that's what I get from what Jitae said on ch.46, about her "crawling into his family, kicking out his mother and abusing him". Besides, Jitae's aunt/secretary never called Suryeon her sister, but Jian's mom could be a paternal aunt tho... Whe need a family tree over here

Well, you're definitely not alone.
This is what I thought from the pieces we get. Jian’s mom- Suryeon- was an ex girlfriend to Jitae’s dad. Jitae’s dad leaves Suryeon and married Jitae’s mom. Suryeon is eventually in a secret relationship/one night stand with President Yang (remember how Grandpa Jitae told Suryeon “don’t be greedy and just be loyal like President Yang” Yang: this guy who runs the restaurant. It was at beginning of the story.) Prez Yang didn’t like her and was quiet/rude to her.
Suryeon eventually comes around with Jian in tow and claims he’s the son of Jitae’s dad. Jitae’s mom is pregnant with Jitae and has marital issues with her husband.
However we learned Suryeon was never pregnant with Jitae’s dad’s kid, she lied and in doing so she broke President Yang’s heart. Prez Yang knows Jian is his kid and that Suryeon lied. This is why Jitae taunted Suryeon about love, President Yang probably did love her a lot at the time but her betrayal ruined that.
Well, I understand him. If a cute guy like Kiel offered me an endless supply of desserts and crunchy snacks, I would agree to his marriage proposal too.
