Oh okay

mary June 4, 2024 4:28 pm

I was scared to read the newer chapters, so I didn’t realize it ended. I think it was a little rushed, but that was a nice ending. Chang-il has been through so much, all that matters is that he’s happy

I feel like we skipped at least twenty chapters of development …? But tbh this manhwa has kind of always sucked. this has been a problem with most shorter series I’ve read; the plot sucks and is rushed, so I end up disappointed

But personally this manhwa didn’t disappoint me, because my expectations were already nonexistent

mary June 4, 2024 6:30 am

The thing is I enjoy this manhwa and have since the English officials were released. But…. It kind of sucks

For one the art. Over reliance on asset models aside (since tbh that’s not a huge issues and is common in manhwa), the coloring is so inconsistent. Pink guys hair changes color, his scar disappears and reappears. Same thing happens with yellow guy. There’s one chapter, when pink guy first holds Noah hostage. They are sitting across from each other and talking, and in one image there’s some random lamp of some sorts blocking pink guys face, which of course disappears in the rest of the scene. I am not an artist, but these are glaring errors. And i’m not sure if color blindness can explain the changing hair colors.

And then the plot. The characters act like ignorant fools, just meandering around. What is “the organization”? Why does everyone seem to want this random necklace. And if the necklace is this important, why did yellow hair have it in the first place? I understand the necklace is essentially a macguffin (a plot device), but still. I can think of potential broader themes and imagery, such as the necklace representing dreams of a better life, and Noah failing to capitalize on its worth indicates how systematic factors and oppressions prevent people from rising up in status. Or that material wealth is not enough to be fulfilled with life, wealth and objects are meaningless if you are alone and lack a support system. But idk I doubt the author wrote this manhwa with broader themes in mind

I think the necklace is such a boring plot point. With some effort, there could have been SOME sort of more interesting gang related conflict at the center of the plot. Maybe tie it back to the one night stand with max. Maybe Noah actually faces consequences for stealing from him (or maybe a different character), and that kick starts the plot.

The romance. Noah does have some sort of connection with each character, on some level. But why does yellow hair act like a total fool? He deserves to have his wallet stolen. And pink hair is so naive. I never understand manhwa characters that are supposedly “hardened criminals” part of some sort of criminal enterprise, yet they barely understand how the world functions. Iam biased and prefer pink hair, and I am have honestly already written out a separate long multi paragraph thing bout that LMAO.

I have enjoyed reading this, although it is incredibly short. There are glimpses of depth, especially with Noah’s back story, but I fear that won’t be fleshed out. The raws end at chapter 25, I don’t think there will be any substantial changes.

Why did it suddenly turn into a gaming manhwa

mary June 4, 2024 1:51 am

It’s not the best, but it’s not that bad. He’s been pretty incompetent at carrying out his revenge plot, but tbh I don’t care much about that. At least, there hasn’t been any moments that gave me severe second hand embarrassment. Some series, the characters do such embarrassing things it forces me to take a break from readings

Him clumsily sneaking through that guys house got close to crossing the line, but it really wasn’t that bad.

He got caught so easily and the CEO probably has seen how he was snooping around his home thru camera surveillance so there's no way he's gonna be treated with respect now it's proly torture from now on

mary June 3, 2024 5:46 am

wtf is this. The mc is just getting constantly raped and assaulted by random ghosts. It’s just weird since despite that, the manhwa itself has a light hearted, comedic tone. It’s just a drastic contrast, and prevents me from actually enjoying reading this. Especially this scene with the ghost dog guy, it just is unpleasant to read.

One thing I like about this series is that, at least at the beginning, it was a true love “triangle”. As in
the omega had a crush on the beta, the beta liked the alpha, and the alpha loved the omega.

Obviously things ended up changing as the story progressed, but it’s still nice. Most love triangles have two characters in love w one person, who then “chooses” between them. But this manhwa really had a triangle of affections and crushes. I think that provides a lot of unique drama that doesn’t happen in the standard love triangle

And this would take too much time to explain and would require major spoilers, but in many ways this manhwa’s relationship dynamic and love triangle makes me think of erha (aka white cat shizun and his husky (or whatever the full english title is, idk lol)). If you’ve read that you might know what I mean lol

I hope the omega gets exposed. After that, the alpha probably expects the jihyuk to start dating him. but I hope the beta keeps his distance. I hope the beta dates neither of those rapist losers, and that the manhwa ends with him on his own. More series need to have the ending WITHOUT the toxic couples getting together. Sometimes the most satisfying ending is where the couple goes their separate ways. I just don’t take these lazy redemption arcs that attempt to excuse all previous abuse seriously.

If any readers like the alpha or omega, I really question WHY? Especially since the art makes each of them ugly, I don’t even understand simping them for being hot. Maybe the omega being a calculating snake? The alpha being an imitation of the standard toxic obsessive seme? I find the omega more interesting solely because he’s an omega and a seme, but other than that? Both have treated jihyuk horribly and have shown, again and again, that they suck

The alpha and omega deserve a life of eternal loneliness. They should repent their horrendous actions, and accept that they do not deserve forgiveness. No matter what redemption arc the author attempts to pull, I still won’t like them.

FUCK OFF WITH YOUR SPOILERS! June 3, 2024 5:00 pm

ngl, when I read this, "If any readers like the alpha or omega, I really question WHY? Especially since the art makes each of them ugly...", I nearly choked on my coffee!!

This guy met the MC like once, then decided to stalk him for two days and take pics of him. And the other guy has met the MC like twice. both have no reason to be so obsessed. Or are they rlly just that petty??? Dude it’s not that serious, just leave him alone

    SisterFriede June 14, 2024 10:26 pm

Ive met worse people then those guys lol.... it happens

    jackjack June 15, 2024 4:26 pm

its very common. in korea as well sadly.
its a pride thing. one you hurt their pride or it seems your looking down on them for whatever reason, some people just become stubbornly evil for no valid reason.

in korea looks are a big thing, and pride also goes along with it. hurting their pride is like disrespecting their image as a person.

    mary June 15, 2024 6:00 pm

I guess there are ppl irl that would go to these lengths for a person they barely know because of pride or something. I was mostly just thinking about it context of the story, and trying to understand the characters motivations (I don’t rlly view characters the same way as actual ppl).

The main instigator guy makes more sense, but the photo stalker guy doesn’t seem to care that much. Plus in this new chapter even the photo guy questions the other why he’s going through so much effort for the MC.
