The art is amazing. The fight scenes are so well drawn, during those chapters I just stare at the panels and appreciate how stunning they are.

But idk how to feel about this because when there aren’t beautifully drawn action scenes, the MC is getting raped by the semes. Like it’s giving nonzero sum (which isn’t a good thing)

I don’t understand the comparisons between this and love or hate. I swear yall have zero reading comprehension. In Love or hate, taku and haesoo never stood a chance. Taku didn’t really love haesoo untill the end of their relationship, and haesoo was distant during the entire relationship because he was hung up on juwon.

Is taku a nice guy? Were haesoo and taku cute? Yes. But they were both in places in their life where a long term relationship was just impossible.

I don’t even necessarily like haesoo and juwon together. Their relationship was really dysfunctional. But you can’t deny the intense emotions they felt for each other, and the fact that juwon (by the end) realized he was WRONG and that he had been treating haesoo like shit. I wish there were a few more chapters showing their relationship progress , instead of just a three year time skip, but I digress. You can’t deny that they loved each other, and that both of them under went change that enabled their relationship to (potentially) work.

Either way love or hate is more than “the MC chose the jerk instead of the nice guy”, seeing ppl complain about taku nonstop rlly does bother me if you couldn’t tell lmao. (I like him too but taku and haesoo rlly just did not and wasn’t going to work out). I understand comparing arts manz to love or hate since there are a couple similarities, but it’s wayyy too early to judge what eunohs dynamic between these guys is like (especially black hair)

I can’t think of many other scum semes having a breakdown like this. Yes I’ve seen tears etc, but nakwon has completely lost it in these chapters. “The idiot was me.” He’s totally defeated. For the first time, he grapples with the pain he caused mokhwa and regrets his actions.

And sorry buddy, hurting your own hand doesn’t undo all the pain you caused mokhwa. Crying doesnt mean you’re forgiven.

But either way, seeing a self-important, arrogant man like Nakwon break down in messy sobs, hair a total mess, screaming in anguish, is pretty impactful

I’m rereading and this remains one of the most brutal SA scenes I’ve read. Unlike other BL often does, there’s no illusions this is motivated by some twisted love. This happened because Nakwon wants to dominate, break, and humiliate Mokhwa. As Nakwon says, he does “whatever he wants”. He doesn’t care about the consequences, doesn’t care about the pain and damage he’s causing. He just wants to be entertained. He just wants to feel powerful.
