Update me guys when they get to the redemption point of the story

I went through a lot of the novel updates reviews and couldnt get clarity on it. On one hand people were saying it was realistic and a good depiction of that time, on another hand i feel it might be too draining to check it out for myself. A good amount of people were criticizing the male lead but even a bigger amount of people were criticizing the fl. Whether whos to blame i still cant get a good grip on it and i dont know if itll truly be a satisfying read if its frustrating because of both parties

The fl is sadly walked like a dog and not very much listened to. But she is not responsible because I fear it's a lot of fear response and the author being set on making her come back to the idiot ml.
The ml on other hand is a selfish bitch who make everything about him. He act like the fl left him after knocking him up even through she went to jail so his sister didn't have to. He didn't visit her once in jail and now his being very condescending and ridiculing the people who saved the fl and took care of her. Also making fun on how she live after he left her with nothing.
He is a rich privileged bra who can't handle that not everything will go his way.
There is the trauma from war but a lot of everything steam from him being very self centered and born filthy rich without any other thoughts in mind.
He see everyone else as inferior and dumber than him. (Even before he went to war)
So tbh it's more like the fl got Stockholm syndrome and the ml can't handle a no.

Im not specifying too many details in this one but some of u may have checked novel spoilers somewhere which i did too. I read from chapter 100 to the end of the novel. Yes the spoilers are correct mostly. Its very angsty and hard to get through that one arc. Its really painful and i dont think i can reread it in manhwa form again. Though some see him as irredeemable, i disagree. I wouldve agreed more and more the closer i was to that arc. But some people probably stopped reading after getting frustrated which i understand since it was frustrating. Some people do make him sound like he did something roses & champagne level tomfoolery. No he didnt, he shattered her heart in worst ways possible and even had that teasing tone when trying to win her back in the beginning. But suprisingly for someone so kind the mc was not budging, even after mls ego was destroyed and he truly saw everything from her point of view. Yes he was shortsighted with rage and didnt see her point of view back then. Yes he shattered her heart into bits and pieces and watched the villagers angrily try to rip her apart with a cold gaze. He thought she was playing him for the hell of it, didnt believe her declarations of love. But he hated himself for it later, and most of all finally gave her space without clinging to her with his apologies like he did. He did what he could to make what he did up to her and she finally after a good while accepted it. Im happy for them, and most of all im no longer angry at him (his current self). It was a rollercoaster of emotions, the read rips u apart and heals those wounds in the end. But with these angsty stories my only question is why? What do we gain from getting pain only to get it healed. Nothing changed from before reading except memories of distain at the worst arcs.
Okay now mass drop 10 more chapters of just them and no one else till these two FUCK
