Why do authors do this? No genuinely, almost every single author adds a break up scene because one is moving away or a time skip. It’s not even “realistic” because half the time no one just moves away out of nowhere and leaves their partner in the shits (at least if they actually love them they don’t). This is honestly just an excuse to make the story “more interesting” but it’s not. I know I’m complaining but I’m also so disappointed because this story was sooo good.
