The twist would have pissed me off if the writer wasn't as good at characterization as they are. The character's actions and thoughts are completely believable despite the absurdity of the situation. Many people who commit murder are not psychopaths incapable of feeling empathy, but they may be a person who deflects blame for their actions as a means of protecting themselves. Jinhyeok has the latter mentality. He starts off victimizing himself- believing anything he does to the family is justified in self defence. He only progresses on the island once he accepts he's a killer and that he took pleasure in killing. but that's also an act to shield himself from taking accountability. The scenario the story presents a type of psychological repentance that's unlikely from the type of person who matches Jinhyeok's criminal profile in the real world; someone who simultaneously has done horrible things but is too self-pitying to consciously feel bad about it-- even if they do feel guilty deep down. So an absurd scenario like a body swap purgatory really feels believable here because it may well be the only thing that can get a person like Jinhyeok to apologize in a meaningful way. Idk this was really good for a "it was all a dream" twist
