I just read the novel (not the entire thing, just up until the latest updated chapter) and if the manhwa is a hard read for y'all then it's best for y'all stop here, it gets so much worse it's actually nauseating to read The worst part is that the novel is so emotional, written so beautifully and thoughtfully that you can't stop reading, it explains how badly Seonwoo gets depressed that he becomes a shell of his former self, and you'll feel his pain like it's your own, start feeling helpless matching of how badly he feels helpless Genuinely though this story is one of the most cared about and considerate writing I've read in a while, it's going to be a painful, painful read for these next chapters but it isn't angst just meant for shock-value or flimsy romance, and it's honestly just like relieving to see how the author writes with consequence, every moment has meaning and impact, and that makes this such a good read, of course, as long as you can handle the heavy topics coming up soon (bullying, sexual assault, depression, etc.)
That's just my two cents at least, I love stories where you can tell the author isn't just writing words but writing a story with emotions intertwined with every word, also sorry if I don't make sense I'm still reeling from how intense reading the novel was for my heart

!!WARNING!! Rant ahead about how ass this story was! Some people absolutely cannot stand yaoi's being criticized the slightest and if that is you, do not read further ahead and don't reply with something stupid because idgaf! This is your warning
First of all, this story was horrible and I feel so bad for the uke, he was treated horribly by every adult he cared for and it's so hard to read, like 1) The seme, don't even get me started with this rapist [yes, pressuring someone to have sex with you and promising you'll stop after they do something with you is rape, and it's also rape when you break that promise] I honestly thought he was so cute on those first few chapters until he just started sexually assaulting the uke and being emotionally manipulative by saying "so I'm just a fuck and chuck?" when HE'S the one who forced the other, and trying to make it like the uke fell for him and was "becoming his true self" for his rapist? Diabolically hard read and honestly I'm dropping it because it's so painful to see that uke ends up with this pos in the end 2) Honestly I don't have much to say about the childhood friend since he actually knows consent and backs off when told no but him being so gleeful everytime uke's relationships failed and being upset for every new one he gets in because he has a crush that he refuses to tell him about? Dude nobody feels bad for you, deal with the consequences for your own actions dumbass 3) The ex-wife is a bitch for playing with the uke's feelings the way that she did, but honestly that's not the most upsetting part 'cause clearly that's just the author's way of setting aside the wife and writing the most surface-level woman that could stay out of the uke's life as much as possible, she's unfortunately just a plot device to get the uke a biological child, the worst part is her pushing together the uke and his rapist [given, she doesn't know that he raped him] like that fixes how much of an asshole she is, not to mention just the bullshit that the author is pulling to make the uke happy with his rapist when for multiple chapters he's shown uncomfortable with the idea of being with him romantically and is always being guilt tripped and forced into it, "you look happier than when you were with me" just pissed me off so bad, so all-in-all this was just a sad sad story of how the uke hasn't had a grown adult in his life actually show him real care and compassion and it's so sad to read this and are expected to believe somehow he got his "happy ending"

Only thing I’d disagree about is the portrayal of a 30 sum yr old, I get he looks young, and it’s heavily just the art style but also… I know a lot of people his age (AND W KIDS THEMSELVES) and they all look young asf or my age so idk, like my coworkers I just assumed were my age so imagine my surprise when they 10+ years older than me I was flabbergasted, so I find it believable, idk how young y’all are but you will learn eventually that 30 is still actually pretty young, like I’ve been walking around assuming my coworker (married w wife and kids) was 26 bro is NOT 26 his kid is old enough to be in school , my other coworker was like idk who told u he’s 26 but he’s not babe I was embarrassed but in my defense it turns out he is younger than my sister so maybe that’s why I got confused (my sister and I have like an 11 year age gap tho but I still think she’s fairly young). Also race is a factor too, some races just don’t be aging, and a 10 year difference isn’t going to be a huge looks wise in adults. And behavior wise? Depends on the individual, if we’re going based I’d interests and attitudes I’d still assume most of my coworkers were my age and they very much aren’t.
I think the worst part about that age thing is for example I went to a sort of kickback one of my coworkers did and invited me to and I was chatting with his friends and certain things would come up that gave away I was much younger than them (I’m a college student for example) and immediately it was awkward, but not for me as much as it is for them, I mean if I put myself in their shoes yeah absolutely not, I hardly like talking to people more than 2 years younger than me let alone someone 10+ awe hell nah that’d throw me off too, I sure as hell wouldn’t date someone 10 years younger than me, I dated someone a year younger than me once and the more I thought about it the more I was like yeah this isn’t going to work. So I do and don’t understand the age gap troupe. I’d be fine dating someone in their 30’s, 40’s is pushing it
