It’s all fun and games when ppl talk about “toxic yaoi” until this crazy shit gets brought up
I love this story sm. The characters are beautiful, the tropes are compelling but perfectly complementary towards each other and it only gets cuter with each chapter. I can’t help but squeal like a little girl anytime misuzu blushes or acts like a tsundere (which is the best part) and esp how reassuring kitahara is towards misuzu. They both try to show effort in their own ways and although misuzu isn’t fully ready to open up yet, they have such a cute and healthy relationship. Only down side is that I’m sad I was left on a cliffhanger I NEED MOREEEEE
Ngl I know this is technically a BL but I’m kinda rooting for Tachibana and Sakaki bc although we don’t know the full lore of Nishi and Sakaki, the title just basically sums up their relationship. Don’t get me wrong, I love obsessive ML’s but honestly this doesn’t rlly feel right to me. Nishi is doing all of the wrong things to keep his best friend and it’s only harming both of them so just like Tachibana said, they need to open up to each other to try and make their relationship into a healthy one instead of Nishi holding Sakaki back like a dog on a leash cuz that’s not how you win someone’s love.

Idk, I feel like it was intended. I can think of 2 things why.
1. They are much older so they dont express their feelings much
2. Irl no one says "I like you" that way and its almost impossible to make it sound not corny in most situations
It may have been intended but like cmon, this is manga and like as adults, I would have expected them to communicate their feelings more without feeling uncomfortable or embarrassed after all of that lore drop from one another despite the story just straight up being dude bro porn. There’s def more potential to be honed for this story, it was just cut too short so while I respect your perspective, I would have to disagree bc to me it wouldn’t really make sense realistically or not.
I had a feeling this mangaka liked Free! bc while I was re-reading/watching Love Stage (I started this a very long time ago and I did not expect it to have this many chapters until now), I was like ain’t no way you cooked this up intentionally having two characters named Nagisa and Rei in one story while also casting the voice actors of nagisa and rei…and then I saw their other works and that was all I needed to know to confirm my speculation. All I gotta say is sb cooked here and it was well done.
