I think everyone in this situation is a hypocrite, the author and some illegal readers. Some entitled illegal readers saying they will boycott the author and not buy the manwhua when in the first place u weren't even going to buy or have supported the author in any way beneficial to them . Also people complaining about the problematic content of the story and using it being problematic as ammo to make themselves seem to be doing a noble thing to illegal read as some form of retribution for the author's problematic content when in the first place we already know what their content gonna be, hell bl is filled with content like that and it has been since the beginning, but let's be real here.. Torn. As someone who has tried their hand at webtoon and purchased a digital tablet for it, it is fucking hard. The plotting, panelling, coloring, designing...people give less value to art and more value to STEM, which sucks. That's why I abandoned art and got a STEM job lol. Ngl, if I were her, I would be hurt and frustrated and literally vomiting that people are taking my livelihood away from me. I am seeing the author crash out emotionally, which I get. This was very sweet, it's odd because as bad as it sounds the art style (which I love) and colorization of this short story made me think it would be some psychological fucked up story. But I love how it has such a major contrast with just how adorable sweet it is, I feel like an artist like this wouldn't do such a sweet (granted short ) story. It's been proven time and time again that what Doyeon says and does doesn't always match up. She's very good at hiding her real feelings when she wants and that one panel looks pretty stone faced. I think she's lying to her dad, since she suspects he already knows, in order to make sure she gets the money for Jin Joo; after all, they say the best lies are wrapped in truth. Jin Joo is once again dependent on someone, regardless of if she reciprocates Doyeon's feelings or not. I think Doyeon doesn't want those feelings to be contingent on not wanting her to die or the guilt over her being kidnapped in the first place; it makes those feelings less genuine. I'd almost go as far to say she's actually speaking on Jin Joo's feelings and not her own since, up til her kidnapping, Jin Joo hasn't expressed that she actually feels that way about her - even showing contempt after the church incident. Doyeon probably thinks there's no way Jin Joo will ever love her the way she loves Jin Joo and that to show that now, after everything they've been through, is just going back to a place of complacency (hence the examples of situations you know you should leave but end up staying in). She wants Jin Joo to be free, especially free of any influence on her decisions.
For everyone languishing here are my highly probable predictions for the ending of Jinx: we learn that Jaekyung has anger issues because he has a terrible case of Hormonal Disbalance and has WAY too much testesterone. This is what helps him in his fights but also has the side effect of being incredibly hairy all over. But, wait, his body is entirely hairless! Exactly. TURNS OUT he also has a case of Sleep Walking and Nairs his whole body every night (including eyebrows (he draws them on later while still asleep, that's why some people mentioned how they changed shape throughout the story)) -- thus he doesn't have enough sleep AND that also contributes to his temper.
Kim Dan figures all this out through the powers of Nurse and Sobering Up and feeds Jaekyung only soya beans until he accumulates enough phytoestrogens to balance out the testesterone. Jaekyung loses his career due to severe muscle atrophy and they move to the countryside where they happily ever after.
