I like that she is giving context to the characters' actions, it makes us empathize with them. Is so easy to judge Cirrus ans Chan-il friendship (i do) because it hasn’t been shown much.
Personally i had many questions, why didn't Chan-il know about Cirrus's mother death anniversary? Why did he never go to his house if they're best friends? Why did the pig thought he could use Chan-il?
Cirrus past gives for several chapters, but i agree it'd be better if they were together and not between the present because those jumps distract from the main story and other unresolved issues like Cirrus father, the fatty, Cirrus crying and so on
Lost in the cloud feels more like the story of Cirrus and Skylar lives and their way to adulthood than a love story.
