I think it's maybe because 1. she wants to be an adventurer instead of the duchess , and 2. she likes the children and doesn't want to take away their chance at being the heir (because they want it, while she doesn't)

it’s a typical isekai w/ a “unconventional” MC who is a material collector. It’ll probably be pretty cut n dry, slice of life/slow-life collecting manga (hopefully).. but I can also see it becoming a VERY TYPICAL “unconventional isekai guy becomes the strongest because of *insert ability*” (づ￣ ³￣)づ
i absolutely love how this series is handling grief- like aesir remaining unchanged while his human companions slowly lose themselves to age- like you can’t shut urself away for the fear that the people you talk to will eventually die, you have to make memories with them while you can so you can look back on it and smile when they’re gone. I think the majority of the time spirits don’t care about humans other than their contractors. humans are ants, to a spirit why should a spirit care about some humans dying? a spirit probably can’t even tell humans apart- they all look the same. as long as the contractor is happy the spirit would probably gladly cause an apocalyptic flood if it means their contractors “problems” would go away.
