It’s funny how people say isis is awful and I won’t lie she did curse everybody and ruin set’s chances in ever having a family but I can’t believe people are forgetting that he attempted to rape her, got mad that she wouldn’t obey him and carry out his own version of revenge, forced her into a labyrinth where she almost died, massacred countless women in Egypt that reminded him of isis, and made all the other gods turn their backs on her. She fucked him over yes but he literally done worse things to her and they were both victims of Osiris. I’m probably the only one defending her and that’s fine because the creator said isis is her favorite character so I’m not alone lol.
But I also I love Seth too no doubt about that he’s my favorite but he’s a loose cannon now and seeing him go through this trial was needed. Seriously can’t wait to see his character development in season 2.

From what I understood, he didn't attempt to rape her. He asked her to sleep with him to consummate a marriage between them in order for him to assume the role of King. I believe if he had the intention of raping her he would have just done it...y'know, like when he used his powers on Horus to physically restrain him...(but we know how that turned out). I do agree that he got mad she rejected him and hence forced her into the labyrinth, so he quite literally threw a tantrum due to her rejection. Everything else you said I completely agree with. Set is not completely innocent. He is a murderer as much as he is a victim and it is a valid point to make that he did at least attempt rape on Horus, if not Isis.

Tbh I saw it that he attempted to when she rejected him but in the end couldn’t go through with it given it happened to him also he respects her to a certain degree. Thus he forced her into a labyrinth instead and he did try to pull the same stunt with Horus. Sex is a means to dominate someone and nothing more so it doesn’t even phase me that Seth made attempts. He might’ve not done it but still the intention was there that was trying to make her his partner

yup he didn’t rape her but he tried to :(, and the reason behind that was that he wanted to take the lead after Osiris’s death with the « help » of Isis cos she was Osiris’s queen. But bidss just put all the blame on my baby and cursed him ? She then also refused to help him... I mean yeah she was « betrayed » and suffered becos of Seth (the labyrinth thing) but the one who was betrayed by his wife, his brother, the child he loved wasn’t his, forced to have sex with his brother (yeh he started it but he didn’t had any other choice but that to save Anubis), cursed by his other sister is Seth so idk i feel bad about Isis but for me Seth suffered so much more !
And the labyrinth thing and gods turning their backs of her (btw the gods are all opportunists) was kind of her punishment (?) for blaming, cursing, turning her back of Seth and not helping her.

I said “attempted” not that he did and she cursed everyone; Seth, nepthys, Osiris, AND herself. So it’s not like she pushed all the blame onto him and she even said that if Seth only talked to her or turned to her for help she would’ve been more than happy to help him go against Osiris. Also when he did go to her he lied to her about everything and didn’t mention what Osiris had done to him and just expected her to follow him. So to put it in perspective she was betrayed by Osiris, Seth, and nepthys too...
Overall, Seth is very prideful so this was his downfall and isis was naive. They both made horrible choices, Seth especially bc he done other worse things besides ruining isis’s status as a goddesses. But of course I’m not taking away the fact that he was a victim but rather my point is that he’s not innocent like a lot of people make him out to be. No doubt that he was before everything happened with Osiris but after? That’s entirely different story. He quite literally dug his own grave and that’s what I think makes this story very sad to me :’(

Yeah, the Gods definitely see sex as a game of dominance, but particularly between males. Set more than likely felt entitled to Isis' "virtue" after having killed Osiris (I'm still confused asf as to how he actually pulled that off gdsgfk). He had to prove to everyone, including himself, that he was strong enough to be King. After Osiris planted that, "seed of doubt," in his head, he basically went: okay, what am I going to do from here to make sure no one dares to question my authority? In his eyes, Isis humiliated him. Instead of coming clean to her, he lied and had her locked away. He became a tyrannical murderer. Which, obviously, is not okay. I believe they both should've spoken to each other. I don't think either of their trauma should be compared to one another's because there are many factors... Isis told Set he could've come to her the day it happened, but he quite literally couldn't and she somehow forgot(?) He couldn't turn into sand because of the wine. Why didn't she step in and say something when she heard Osiris threaten Set with Anubis' life? I don't blame her for being in shock or afraid, I would probably be too. I just think there are a lot of things to take into account, y'know. I actually like Isis a lot and she reminds me a bit of myself(?) If someone really wrongs me I get a little too excited about planning their downfall LMAO, uh... Let's just say, I'm extremely disappointed in her AND Set's communication skills plus her stubbornness, though I understand it and don't at all hate her for it. Idk, I have a soft spot for her. TD;LR Set is not an innocent baby AT ALL, however seeing him get raped multiple times is really unappetizing, personally, and as a victim of sexual abuse, I have a lot of empathy for his character, but also can't help but be hyper-critical of his actions...and Isis isn't a bad character just because Set is your fave!

Omg yes I agree with everything you said I feel the exact same way, my prior comment is just me ranting bc it’s so disheartening to see people hate isis for weak reasons (she’s such a well written character!) but then turn around and baby Seth like he’s innocent and done no wrong when that isn’t the case at all. Ennead has a lot of grey areas with layers to it so it’s weird to see people comment such black and white opinions? Idk it might just be me who feels this way also again I really appreciate your comments bc I couldn’t have said it better myself :)

that’s what i meant, you’re right he tired/attempted to do so which i condemn. For the curse thing it’s foggy cos a previous chapter i believe it said that she cursed Seth and herself and yeah in the latest one it shows that she cursed everyone. She could’ve just curse Nephtys and Osiris ╥﹏╥ . And yeah i understand that Seth could’ve told her the truth but how could she except him to tell something traumatizing as him sleeping with his brother aka her husband :( I think it’s easy to say “you should’ve told me the truth” but let’s not forget that they moment she saw Seth + Osiris kiss, and listening to their convo instead of helping, she cursed all of em including herself...Oh she also had a child with Osiris after everything he did ? xD Maybe now she thinks that she would’ve helped Seth if he told the truth but i don’t think she would’ve at that exact moment(in the past) but that’s my opinion. Anyway like you said they both suffered becos of Osiris’s obsession and Nephtys (she’s as detestable as Osiris for me after i read the latest chap on tappy), but i understand why everyone “hate” Isis cos i believe she made some stupid decision (cursing part for exp). I hope at the end both Seth and Isis find peace...

She said she would’ve been more than willing to help Seth to go against Osiris and the thing is Seth never relies on her or anyone for help and that made her feel bad bc I think she says it in later chapters that he didn’t see her as an equal. So already to have that kind of strain between them and being selfish by nature bc they’re gods we shouldn’t forget that, she went ahead of herself and cursed everyone and he went ahead and did all those things to her, his family, and the people of Egypt. (Also she needed to have a child, Horus is an important character and the new god destined to defeat Seth and be the new ruler of Egypt or Seth would have continued to destroy Egypt. And from my understanding she USED Osiris for that so it wasn’t like she had a child with him out love)
also as for when she was listening on Osiris and Seth she had already been overwhelmed by nepthys’s confession then to go see her husband cheat on her and on top of that see what kind of monster he is and assaulting her little brother? I’m surprised she even had the energy to runaway bc who in their right mind can even react properly in that kind of situation? Also looking at it story wise expecting her to swoop in and save Seth in that very moment wouldn’t have worked, the story would’ve gone in entirely different direction.
So I truly find it fitting that in the last panel of the latest chapter on Tappytoons where isis tells Seth “let’s both try our very best to achieve our own separate goals” it showed what Ennead and this trial really is about; revenge, justice, and redemption. They accepted the mistakes and bad decisions they made up to this point and now they both intend to finish what they started, a mutual respect and acceptance is shared between them. And it’s the only thing they can do at this point. But I too hope that Seth does get some type of peace or clarity and isis to restore Egypt the way it was and hopefully reconcile with Seth one day. I really think that Seth and isis would’ve been a powerful duo so thats the reason why the creator chose them to fight e:o like this :’)

imma just point this out, im not tryna defend anyone here amma just point this out cuz i like this discussion (⌒▽⌒).
someone said (idk who, i forgot sorry) that when set tried/attempted to sleep with isis, he actually was reluctant to do so at all. something like, he wouldnt do it in he first place even if hes saying it rn.
also the “seed of doubt” (i havent reread that part and im just saying this out of something someone said idk who, i forgot also, sorry if im wrong) i think that was supposed to make set insecure about himself about being a good god or something, like he himself about not being some flimsy god so that made him think “am i really actually strong by myself?” ,”am i worthy??”. so i dont think seth was tryna prove he could be king as well. in the first place he is a “free spirit”, he couldve just been roaming around the world if osiris didnt give him responsibilities just so he could keep set in his grasp, hence the desert making and making set protect egypt. so time went by and set got attached to himself being the protector of egypt, seed of doubt came and the insecurities came by.
so i think, set ended up being king just because osiris is dead. (we know how that happened). plus the “seed of doubt” and we have set’s thinking that “the strongest should be king”
but yeah, i totally agree that ennead is so appealing due to its contents of being morally gray and it layers. also with its character writings damn, ennead is really a diamond in the rough, truly my fave of the faves

yknow how isis said, “we could've talked it out”
imma just say... would it have happened like this?:
*set and osiris in chap 42*
osiris : think seth. think about what you must do. what is it that you can do.
(place “we could’ve talked it out” option)
set: imma go speak to isis real quick, imma talk this out brb.

It’s nice to see people change their opinion somewhat on isis. I didn’t really like the fact that people were saying she’s evil because its like everyone forgot that she was victim as well, just like Seth. They both had been hurt by someone they trusted and made/making horrible decisions to try to cope with it and in the end Isis got the shorter end of the stick bc Seth caused her a lot of pain as well when he was enacting on his version of revenge....as much as I adore Seth he’s not entirely innocent either.

Idc what anyone says I feel so much sympathy for jihwa. People act like he’s the cruelest person in this series for getting upset and wanting revenge if anything it’s understandable. if I were in his shoes I’d be miserable like he is bc imagine watching the person you knew almost your entire life and loved fall for someone else and on top of that is of a lower status of you...not only would I feel hurt but humiliated as well especially being a noble. I feel a lot of people are forgetting that too like?? nakyum is a low born, he’s a painter who refuses to paint with nothing to his name. And jihwa, who comes from a noble family and almost on the same footing as seungho, is getting treated lesser compared to nakyum. Obviously if it were real life and modern times, this would be labeled classist and horrible but this type of hierarchy is a part of the potn world so??
For example, in season the first or second chapter seungho killed a man bc he thought he was lying. That man was easily disposable bc he had no noble ties to him and seungho didn’t even blink. That goes to show how low borns were looked/treated by nobles but all of a sudden when jihwa, a noble, puts a hit on nakyum and doesn’t even go through with it he’s the bad guy? Also not trying to excuse everything jihwa’s done bc they were indeed horrible but it’s the double standard that’s bothering me. Because if anything, seungho has been way more cruel towards nakyum than jihwa has. That’s a hard pillow to swallow for some of you guys but it’s true and I will gladly die on this hill.

Well, pillows are indeed hard to swallow.
That is a great analysis. It's hard that some people tend to view a story with their standards rather than the perspective of the writer. These people disregard the setting that was deliberately made by the author and complain how difficult it is to understand the story.
Words cant describe how much I adore this manga. The characters are amazing and their dynamic is out of this world bc they fit so well with each other despite being total opposites. Their chemistry is so nice and refreshing and different from anything I ever read before. I truly just ADORE this manga from the bottom of my heart!
