nah, this one is different. there's a reason why this one is considered a masterpiece. the author doesnt hold back in depicting how fucked up and horrifying his situation is. there is a ton of gangrape and abuse, but it's not solely based on those moments that make this work so emotionally devastating and harrowing; it's the fact that the rare moments of happiness and peace mc experiences with several normal characters are quickly engulfed by the relentless tragedy caused by the boys that mc is unable to prevent bc of his lack of power. as mc said, the boys kept piling debt upon debt on him, which deepened his hatred and guilt, twisting him so much that he's unable to forget or let go of his obsession with them. so, no, the mc is not weak. he fights back hard, and is tenacious and stubborn, but bc of this tenacity and the severity of what they did to him, he develops a bond of hatred with the boys, that later develops into a parasital relationship. anyway, that's all to say that the psychology behind mc's stockholm syndrome is written extremely well, and the story really explores how hatred and love are simply two sides of the same coin, which i had never seen another author do with as much nuance before.
