Violence both psychological and psychical is wrong (also no matter what gender victim/abuser is). Being angry doesn't equal being aggressive, you can be angry and don't resolve to violence. Also he wasn't really mad at her because of money or love, but because she hurt his pride as a man and that's a misogyny flowing out of him.

I actually like the side storylines, because it's building up the world around the characters. You get to know better the characters and why they behave a central way. I think it's portraying a very important message and commentary about today's world
This should have a psychological horror instead of romance label, because if you treat this like that then it's a pretty good story
