Honestly, this type of parent-kid relationship is sadly common, where the parent doesn't realize they're not giving their kid enough affection until the kid is old enough to tell them they're hurt by them.
Its why the nuclear family can be so traumatizing, the mental health of the kid is dependent on 2, in this case 1, people who are busy with other things.
I really feel bad for Juvel and her papa, it hurts to look at this kind of pain from the outside.
Sadly I know this all too well. I was never really affectionate as a kid but through my teens I wanted more affection from my mom (everyone in my family is suuuper affection except me so I was like the odd duckling) but I didn't know how to express it and my mom wanted to respect my boundaries. Now I'm moved out and although we still love each other there is a strain in our relationship and I still haven't learned how to be intimate with someone and show affection.
I'm currently a Genetics PhD student with a biotechnology degree. If you have any questions or want something explained, im happy to help in the comments.
The science is pretty good, I work in a stem cell lab and what they're doing makes sense.
The speed at which they're doing it is absolutely laughably wrong. It takes weeks and months to be able to generate specific cell types, which doesn't even get into how long it would take to get a therapy approved for animal studies, let alone human studies.
That’s amazing! I ended up taking an engineering course but I actually want to take biology or chemical engineering but there’s no proper university for those courses that is near in our area that’s why reading these and confirming that what they are saying actually make sense if simply amazing for me
