I tried to explain and understand what the guys are talking about..but the more i wrote the more wrong it seems. So my theory is slightly different. Anubis could most likely be a guardian soul of sort for ebis. He's from ancient times and must have supernatural powers, and yanzi could be a fragment of his soul.
But it still doesn't explain why the past mimi who was stoned was attracted to yanzi in modern times. Were they lovers in the past? He did say he's a tomb keeper and so was stone mimi. Maybe we'll know more in later chapters
