This story hits too close to home. I had a ‘friend’ whom I liked. We were together almost everyday, anywhere. At some point she would ask if I like someone and I would just tell her ‘no’. I can’t tell that it’s her bc I’m scared. Scared of rejection. Scared of breaking our friendship. There’s also still a stigma of being gay at that time. So as long as I’m with her I’m happy.
At one point I heard from one of my friends that she went to date someone else. She never told me anything about it. I start to distance myself to her. I think she noticed it and start sending me long messages. Our next meeting we got into a fight. I think we both know that our friendship will go no where. We stop talking after that.
It’s been 5 years since that. I haven’t heard anything from her. I’m okay now. And I hope she’s okay and happy. :,)
