The teacher seems like an irresponsible horndog. Like seriously, he wants to have sex just about anytime, anywhere. He doesn't even consider the location or whether or not they might be discovered. Are you sure he's an adult? He seems like a highschooler to me. Like, he was aware that kazuki was afraid of people finding out, but he didn't address that maturely at all. He just keeps doing the things that made kazuki feel anxious and restless because kazuki was scared they'd get exposed. Yet the teacher cant keep it in his pants for even one second. Seriously? Sex on a ferris wheel? Out in the open? Even when kazuki said he wanted to go home? Even when ushioda called him out for his tendency to act lightly, he doesn't reflect on it. Instead he pretended to be mature and said stuff like ushioda is just worried about you. Exactly! He has the right to be worried. His friend is dating someone who doesn't take things seriously. He pretended to give advice when he himself is the root of the problem. If they got exposed, sure he might get fired and change school or something, but kazuki will have to face his parents who are teachers, kazuki might get bullied or ostracized. He is already an adult yet he doesn't act like one. He takes advantage of kazuki's innocence and doesn't think far ahead in the future. He thinks with his dick.

Exactly..whys nobody saying this!

Oh, so it is true that Naru enjoys manipulating people. And him saying that "bitter experience is a good life lesson" is probably something that he still believes. Lol at whoever was defending Naru's personality saying "he's doing it for masato and asahi".. nahh you guys are lying to yourself. Naru did what he did because he thought it's fun, that's all. So much for his "responsibility" speech.

Cheers Ringo!! We were one of the few who could see the snake crawling all along

I have read the whole novel despite the bad translations using MTL, and now that the good translations are up to ch 198, I started rereading starting around 180+. And the more I read the more I feel detached. This is strictly my opinions only, but the longer I get to know jinwoo, the more I feel like I don't understand him at all. Sure he's badass and all, but he's becoming less and less.. human. His main priorities have always been to protect his family, but that passion of wanting to protect is becoming less visible. Maybe because the author didn't really write much about jinwoo spending time with his family, but by now I honestly don't care much about his mother and sister. Their characters aren't well-developed enough for me to care about them. I do like yoo jinho as well, but sadly I'm not that attached to him and I don't really feel that sad about him being beaten up by hwang dongsu. Idk why, maybe it's just me who lost interest in this great novel, but honestly speaking I really have no admiration for greedy MCs. I've never really thought of jinwoo as greedy before, it's super awesome that he makes everything he defeated into his soldiers and there's a sense of accomplishment that makes you feel really really satisfied. However, things started being odd after jinwoo wanting to make Kamish his summon. I feel really weird about that.
I know it's an important way of him getting hints about rulers and sovereigns etc, however was there really a need to make Kamish his summon? This is something that has terrorized the whole american continent, sure, Beru and the giants did the same as well, but Jinwoo defeated them both with his own hands hence he somehow has a right to their dead bodies. Kamish, however, is not something that he has a right to. Other s-ranks sacrificed their lives to defeat kamish, and they have protected and utilised kamish's dead body for energy that benefits them. Of course nothing would happen to kamish's actual body, but is it really something he needs? At this point, kamish has automatically become a property of american hunters' bureau, and also is a symbol of their victory while remembering the countless hunters who fought it. Jinwoo has no part in any of this. He didn't defeat kamish nor did he have any association with them. Therefore, he doesn't understand the sentiment behind it nor does he care about what kamish symbolizes and its importance to the americans. He just went to US one day, saw a picture and decided that he wants it?! Really? I wouldn't mind much if the author decided to make a situation in which jinwoo would have no choice but to summon kamish in order to defeat something, but jinwoo wanting kamish because he just thought it would be awesome? That sounds greedy and inconsiderate to me. Even the bureau director thought that it would be too much power for one person to hold. Because jinwoo could destroy a continent if he wants to if he has kamish. This, to me, is very selfish of jinwoo and pretty immature of him to want something that doesn't necessarily belong to him. Imagine if he did somehow got kamish, and used it and it was televised globally. Imagine how the victims and victims' families would feel when they see the silhouette of their nightmares, their trauma that they couldn't escape from even after years and years, suddenly being shown in front of them as a summon of some guy who doesn't care about what kind of emotions he would evoke from his actions. You know what jinwoo feels like at the time he tried to summon kamish? He feels like those "historians" who stole a country's artifact and brought them back to his country to put them in museums. He acted like Kamish belongs to him. And it felt wrong. After becoming an s-rank, jinwoo is so selfishly absurd that he thinks he can get away with everything. I am not fond of the arrogance he displays when he's with others, I am not fond of his willfulness when demanding stuff, I am not fond of his overly uncontrolled wrath when beating thomas andre, I am not fond of his unfriendliness towards other hunters, I am not fond of how he thinks he can make everything his summon even when he didn't beat the monsters himself, I am not fond of this greed for power and strength, I am not fond of his change from just wanting to survive and save his mom to a person who is so obsessed with leveling up. Of course I know the title is about leveling up, and that's what jinwoo has been doing, and that some scenes are important for development of the story, however, jinwoo's character has become so detached. He is now arrogant, demanding, sometimes a bully, inconsiderate, insensitive and greedy. To me, he no longer feels human, he no longer feels like a main character. I no longer feel like I support him, especially after his actions of wanting kamish and almost beating thomas to death. Regardless of whether or not thomas deserved it, there is no need to deprive a country of its special authority rank when jinwoo himself knows how gates have become irregular and they need more strong people. He does not have the right to take Kamish, nor does he have the right to kill Thomas. His inability to think rationally and his blind obsession for wanting power and more summon collections baffle me sometimes.
With that said, this is only how I feel about the recent chapters. It's not objective and it's definitely arguable. I will still read the novel and manhwa because I want to. But because I no longer feel attached to jinwoo as a character, I might not like it as much as I did before.

*** SPOILER FOR BOOK ***

I agree with everything you’ve said here. I’m currently on chapter 200 of the novel, and the more it goes on the more I’m starting to wish for someone or something to just beat some sense into Jinwoo. I used to chear for him when he won or got stronger, but now he’s so arrogant about his power that it feels pointless for me to chear for him, because I know he’s just going to win every time and he’s going to be an ass about it. I also hate how EVERY SINGLE PERSON he meets starts to ass kiss him. He gets away with LITERAL murder, but that’s okay! Because he’s strong! Yay for Jinwoo! He’s become someone who relishes in ruling over everyone. I no longer see him as a man just wishing to become stronger to protect those close to him. Whilst he does still have this sense of heroism, he’s cocky and outright obsessed with beating everyone at everything. He demands whatever he wants and because logic, he gets absolutely everything. I loathe how pathetic and weak all the hunters look compared to him now. And I absolutely hate how every single character panders to his every whim and desire, all because he has strength. He’s not even nice to them! He abuses his power and threatens anyone he judges to be unworthy. He goes way, way to far with the fight against other hunters but believes it’s within his right because he gets to ‘choose’ the punishments he gives out. I really do hope this character change is intentional; as a reminder that he has such a profound darkness within him. Perhaps his character is ‘becoming’ a monster of sorts, due to his power. The only question is whether or not he’s able to regain some of his earlier humbleness and emotional range.

...
..
It would only make sense for the character change to be intentional IF jinwoo reflects on himself everytime he does something selfish. Like, even just one line like "Was I like this before?" or "Why do I feel like I've changed?" would make me feel, ohh so jinwoo does realize he's being an ass to everyone. If the author provide lines like that, I would think that the author has something planned ahead in order for jinwoo to overcome his superiority complex but no, he doesn't address the issue at all. So now, I just think that the author is completely focused on making jinwoo stronger physically without making him wiser emotionally.

I wouldnt say he's greedy but yea he's very obsessed with leveling up. Which is fine because thats the point of the story, however i wish they couldve handled his character development better

I think jinwoo Isn't that bad, he will beat whoever pissed him off, but still he have heroism side in him... but in the end, he still in human side than in monarch or ruler side... If he is really that bad like you said, he will abandone human side and just go whenever he want, truth i really like his character the most... (⌒▽⌒)

There is a very good reason for the way he has become. I like the way Jin woo has become. he has and has had to beat so many things his own demons, he has dad to decide who to trust and who not to trust and believe what is real and not real. The truth of all of this is who really is Jin woo. His real character development began in that first chapter. You should be asking your self who is this person bec. he has been asking himself this same question through out this story. what is he. and why. He is on a SOLO journey.there have been many hints in this manga that there is a bigger story here.

Začínáš mě srát ty podělanej magore you are taking about how bad he is and all but how do you know it will by the same in this manga ? Didn't read novel and I will not read it the only thing I'm interested right now is this manga and I don't care of you like it or not that is your problem and if you don't like it then don't read it . Btw :you are fucking annoying bro

The fuck? I already said don't read this comment if you haven't read the novel. You're the one who doesn't know how to read instructions yet you're blaming me? I'm not obligated to accommodate to only what you're interested in. It's my fking comment and I can write whatever I want. You're the annoying one for talking nonsense. I sincerely voiced out my opinions for NOVEL readers only, and they commented by saying whether or not they agree, and I respect their opinions. You, however, are too offensive I don't think I should take you seriously. I already said I will continue reading the manhwa because I still like it. Who are you to tell people to drop something? I do what I want and you have no say in it. If you think you can tell me to drop the manhwa, then I will tell you to get the fuck outta here if you don't like my comment. No one's forcing you to reply. If you don't like my comment, then don't read it. You're fucking annoying. 너 나 잘하세요, 개새끼

No one:
Readers:
Author: I feel like I need to make some drama but I don't want to jeopardize their relationship hmmmmm ok got it! Cow thief it is!

That's the kind of reply that says you don't know what else to say.
My comment was a joke. I wasn't mocking the author for putting a cow thief subplot, I like it. And yes, everybody knows the subplot has been foreshadowed, there's no reason why I can't make the joke now.
You're the one who misunderstood.
Such an annoying and condescending reply.

Rly dude? The title says 'Haha' if that doesn't mean I'm laughing then I don't know what else. And I wasn't being sarcastic. Maybe you misunderstood me because it's hard to detect intonation from a comment but I wasn't mocking the author, I wasn't being sarcastic and I definitely wasn't hating the cow thief subplot (it's cute and fresh, why should I hate it). The use of the meme
"No one:
Someone: asddfkk"
is in its true nature, a joke. I'm baffled by how the other 33 people can understand and like my comment but somehow when it comes to you it's r/whooooshh. And I wasn't insulting you, I was annoyed at your reply, so I just stated that I was annoyed because you're the one who misunderstood my intention, so why do I have to go through such lengths to accommodate you when everybody else who liked my comment can understand the general tone of my comment? Why do I have to please you when you're being annoying and offensive on purpose? I seriously don't know what's going on in your mind, but I am genuinely and sincerely saying that I wasn't being sarcastic. I like the story, I like the subplot, and I like how the author put out something fresh instead of other authors who give cliche things because of the need for drama. If after this you still insist that I'm mocking the author, then I have nothing else to say. If you can't accept a person's sincere thoughts, then you're just trying to pick a fight for your own satisfaction instead of really trying to discuss.
So in case you think I might be mocking you, I'll put an emoji just in case
ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

??? tf? I was the one who asked you what your point was.
Ok you know what shindere, you sound like a retarded kid who's trying to annoy everyone and pick a fight all the time because you wanted some cheap attention. That's right, I insulted you. Because you deserve it. And now I'm blocking you, because I don't need your stupidity on my comment. Bye felicia

*sighs* really now? All you did was provoke me instead of giving logical reasoning and I explained everything to you genuinely how I felt about this manhwa and what my comment entails. I even addressed the fact that you think I was being sarcastic because of lack of emotion and intonation shown in my comment. I was responding to you very seriously and honestly even when I didn't need to. Isn't it normal to for a person to match the effort of the other party when engaged in a conversation? Yet all you can say is some condescending replies thinking that you're so savage and that everyone else is wrong when you haven't even presented your arguments properly.
The best thing to do in an argument is to reflect on your own points when being told new information that challenges your initial assumptions. If at first you thought I was mocking, I sincerely told you I wasn't and that wasn't my intention. I can't help it if others interpreted it wrong, but I have already explained myself and am no longer obligated to justify my comments towards people who refuse to understand my point of view.
Isn't it kind of persistent of you to create a new account just to say that 'you won'? Is that important to you? Winning? If so then take it. You won this debate, mister.
It's very childish to assume that other people blocked you because they can't handle the truth. I specifically told you my truth, and you were the one who couldn't handle it. There's no need to mock other people for being sensitive when you were the one who was being insensitive in the first place. You didn't even try to have an honest conversation, you just bulldozed through everything and slaps everyone with your "opinion" and think that you've won. How.. immature.

Shindere? More like Shitdere lol ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
Your attitude is too shitty that you twisted someone's joke to mocking the author. Even after OP cleared up what they mean, you still insisted that your interpretation is correct.
What a fckin pathetic loser ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
Lol no bb, you need to use lube... or lick it ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
the latter one is for a pro ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
