fr. it's the most entertaining popcorn read. with bl fantasies, u either get minor political backdrop that serve to further the relationship between leads, or u get a highly political plot, but lacking in the "high" fantasy aspects. this story is not really political or requires u to turn on ur brain, but the fantasy aspects and the drama is genuinely interesting.
I can't even deny it. I know when to lift my hands and say 'I've been had'. The guys that constantly treat him like trash and grape him constantly INFURIATE me and there are even some scenes where Leon is just so helpless after the aftermath of what they keep doing to him that it made me so fucking sad.
But, it's the fact that the Author knew exactly when to drop tidbits here and there to give even those who hate this shit some semblance of hope. Something to root for so they keep coming back.
Like that earring he got from Cliff for example or even tidbits of memories, mentions of him before his name was even revealed of a man that he LOVED and wouldn't treat him like shit.
When Leon BEGGED Nergal not to take his earing, I legit almost.cried. it was the only thing he has of Cliff and the only thing that he was willing to get assaulted for. After Meph had his way and he said 'it was all worth it' bcs he got his earring back I was like 'CLIFF YOU BETTER GET THE FUCK BACK QUICK AND BEAT ALL THEIR ASSES'
Seriously, the Author indeed knows how to play their damn strings bcs I look forward to every update thinking 'Has Cliff FINALLY beat their asses and saved Leon yet?'
