Their chemistry is so good. And i like that Kaoru is a beast in fighting while still being open and honest with what he wants. And I like those troupes in delinquents. Gap moes are always so fun. Pair that with another unhinged character and you got yourself good chaos. And seeing the side character’s responses are hilarious.
If there was another volume, I’d love to see more of their backstories or just them being a lovey dovey couple while fighting. And if there was an actual threat to the plot where Kaoru actually gets hurt or in danger, I’d want to see Shun’s intense reaction.

I love it when Shinobu gets all worked up, so when the translator mentioned about him getting jealous of the new character for vol 3, I can’t wait for that. It’s his turn to overthink things and his developing relationship with Hikaru. Because it seems like he’s not used to having deep relationships with someone, so it would be interesting to learn more about that. I found Hikaru’s character a bit annoying at first, but knowing he’s a bit of a klutz and is stubborn bc of his pride, makes it really hilarious and fun to read

The artsyle is great idk who said it’s ugly, but as an artist, the way they are drawn captures the emotion despite the “simple” style. I do wish there were more chapters on the second couple tho! Tsubaki was just starting to express himself more and i wanted to see them explore how their relationship will develop now that Azuma’s there. I also really love the cigarette analogy. Didn’t know the was a prequel for the first couple so imma read that next

After rereading a few chapters, only now I realized that the mc was basically r****. And the reason I had no memory of it as a teen was bc of how the aftermath was romanticized. You’d think that it’s still ‘ok’ since they’re living a cute and happy ending, and that’s where it gets more problematic. Is when ppl start to be r*** apologists and defend the manwha, like bro you can still consume and even appreciate parts of the story *while* still acknowledging the fact that an assault happened

The present version of them is actually so sweet and warm. But knowing all this happened because Ido wanted to ‘redeem’ himself after literally ab*sing Sejin in their past life and driving him to s**cide, makes me feel so conflicted. Maybe it’s meant to make us feel like that.
I get it that Ido probably never wanted to be on an arranged marriage and acted all cold around mc. And now he genuinely feels remorse on his actions and loved him from what I’m seeing (Never read the novel, only guessing from what I get in the recent chapters)
But I can’t really praise him for trying to do better because of the victim. Sejin went through so so much growing up, then getting r**** by the ml, and literally having nightmares till the very present times, not knowing these ‘nightmares’ haunting him were actually his memories.
If these part of the story starts to unfold, I really hope that it does Sejin’s story justice.
The pacing is fast on this one. It would’ve been a great story had it fleshed the characters and settings more. But since it was rushed, the stakes didn’t feel high and it wasn’t as satisfying when the two had a moment together. So much potential
