“I’ll be with you” and “don’t abandon me” sound like proposals coming from xi and he tian’s mouths. so cute! and the way zheng xi and jian yi look at each other in that last panel. damn. ^-^
I love xiao hui’s and jian yi friendship development. this girl went from calling jian yi abnormal, making him cry, screaming homophobic slurs at him bc she was bitter ~bc she also had a crush on zhan zheng xi~ to now being completely supportive of him and cheering him on to be with zheng xi on the sidelines. of course it took zheng xi rejecting her a million times and telling her he liked jian yi, but I’m happy the author didn’t reduce her character to be one of those typical disrespectful female characters. I’m glad a female character in the story is being used for more than just a ‘bitchy, jealous’ girl part which is very common in BLs. she became more than just that.
she is being there, as a supportive friend for jian yi. and I also like that she hasn’t told jian yi that zhan zheng xi told her he likes him.. bc it’s not her place to tell and she knows and respects that zheng xi should be the one to tell him when the time finally comes when he is ready. ever since she hung out with them at that outing that one time, she’s been such a sweetheart. even fangirling over them, behind a wall at some point, not wanting to intrude on their ‘lovey dovey’ aura.
