Meh, I don’t think the emperor deserves her. He neglected the hell out of her, and it really seems like he only started caring cause she molded herself into what he wanted at the time. She clearly doesn’t feel comfortable with him and doesn’t see him as a father at all. The other guy seemed to not have known her existence and even though he was rude at first it seemed out of genuine lack of knowledge rather than taking out your own personal issues on someone. She’s good with just her real family. I do want a show down of the fathers tho
I understand your feelings towards the emperor he wasn't a good guy. He said she should die quietly as a rat and to any child that is scaring. But I am also aware that while he only liked her because of what she forced herself to do. But I am also thinking there were many times he wanted her to act normally it's his fault for never expressing it. But I do think now he is actually expressing it and it's her decision if she belives it's too late, but I think it's unfair for us not her to believe his love for her would dissappear the moment she stops acting like before. I mean she alrdy kinda has and he is desperately trying to keep his relationship with her from her false behaviours but his affection was still real.
In the end it's all the emperor's fault, regardless of his grief completely ignoring your child blood related or not is completely evil and the mc can choose whether she wants to start a new relationship with him or not.

No one said his “love” for her would disappear if she stopped acting like it. I do think he genuinely cares for her now, but I believe he only STARTED to care because of the way she forced herself to act. That’s my issue. It’s always the same in those kind of stories, fathers are either neglectful or abusive, and they only start caring about their kids when they show ambition or potential (or act a certain way, like suck up to them). I don’t like neglect being forgiven or overlooked, that’s why I’m really glad that the FL actually does believe it’s too late and she’s not going to forgive him. It’s refreshing.
Again I agree with you but imo he has probably been the most apologetic and straightforward of the father's I've read many of them (Claude) never even apologise.
I'm not saying she has to forgive him and he def needs to do more but I think he has the highest path of forgiveness than others.

When the 2nd couple had more of a focus I felt more calm and peace than I had felt since the beginning of the story.

Haven't read a story where the bottom has this much top energy not only from looks but also personality. Put him in any other story and he is 9/10 times going to just be another cliche top. Knowing he is taking it from the ass makes it so much better.

He seems to have developed this almost airhead like coping mechanism to deal with his trauma where he kinda lives in his own little bubble and acts a lot more childish than others his age because of it.
