i don't think the point of this backstory is for us to pity him and like him bc of it but rather to add a bit of context how he became so shitty and problematic. it's a realistic portrayal of how we become the monsters we hate the most.
however, that being said, i also can't look past the fact that he literally abused dan, who was also struggling. in a real situation dan should probably stay away from him and file a restraining order but since they're the leads of a manhwa (which means they DO end up together), then he's gotta do more than just chase and actually build a bond centered on love and understanding (as ridiculous as this sounds to me)
i just read a bunch of manhwas with toxic semes and thank god i read this right after, because although jihwan is a sex-crazed seme, he's such a softie and a green flag. i love whipped semes with no fragile egos.
ps. still crying over the fact that the twins' surnames are doha's and that jihwan got so messed up seeing doha recover from childbirth that he ultimately decides against a second pregnancy and gets a vasectomy again ╥﹏╥ he really LOOOVES doha with all his heart and he's willing to do everything for his beloved's safety (≧∀≦)
