i have reread the novel twice and can say this is a really good story. no one should expect a man with an obvious antisocial personality disorder to be able to love and thus believe this to be a cozy romance. i think once you read the novel, you will understand so much more about why Zenya is the way he is. That doesn’t make any of his actions acceptable but the MC deals with his ass regardless. It’s an interesting dynamic. As it usually is when you deal with someone who purely acts on instinct and need rather than sympathy and logic, a type of predator vs prey relationship is established between the two. i really find this from a psychological standpoint very interesting to observe. especially when i read stories where a “sociopath” is involved. anyways, we can all agree we would never wanna end up with a dude like that. yet, these kinds of stories have their charm. i recommend reading the novel.
