I think this is the classic unreliable narrator. Have you noticed that we've only been seeing one point of view and that one narrator just realised that "in the darkness, all he can see is himself"? I think there is love between then yes but the mc doubts it so we are bound to doubt it as well if we don't read it carefully.

I really hope they come up with a box set for this series so I can buy that too, and an art book or two like for Pandora Hearts. Sadly the PH box set had a bad case design and a lot of them ended up damaged during delivery, including mine (hope they learned their lesson). Also, the second art book for PH wasnt available in English so I had to get that Japanese version.
If this series ever gets a box set and art book, I’d like a better case design and all art books available in multiple languages!
Yeah, it's just that in my store there have been only two volumes for years and there haven't been any other volumes, but a box is a very good thing but ordering something like that for me has some complications, yeah I hope that they make them into multiple languages because there's actually one manga what I wanted to buy but it was only sold in Russian and my friend went to Russia to buy it for me but then she said that it wasn't in any of the shops what were supposed to have it, I hope people will make translations for others too because otherwise you always need to translate them °-° and I hope that they'll make better boxes because I've seen a lot of people who have gotten damaged or broken boxes
