The romanticism is the problem here. Writing something about a guy being abused isn't wrong. Writing something about a guy being abused and then he gets with the abuser, the abuse is passed as minor, and the story is tone deaf in general? that's where the problem begins
Whenever you say something good about anything make a pause and then say oh that too (the thing u were supposedly taking about so it implies u meant it for the person). Sounds weird so I’ll give an example
