i understand why authors hate it but honestly, if i didn’t read it here, i wouldn’t read it at all. i love supporting artists as much as i can - i own hundreds of manga volumes, mostly brought new from the store. i’m not saying it to show off but to prove a point. i’m a working student so i can’t say i don’t have the money. but at the same time i don’t have enough to support all the works i enjoy. as i said - when it comes to webtoons for me it’s not the choice between „pay vs don’t pay” but „have to pay = don’t read at all”. so i get it why the artists are mad but at the same time don’t forget that there are at least two kinds of people: one that will support the author anyway because they read scanlations and decided to buy it legally and others, who wouldn’t read it at all if it wasn’t for free.

kanibalizm, agree with you.
Additionally, my thoughts to this painful topic: personally, I can't afford to buy the comics I will not like (been there, done that, got burned, never gonna do that again) - I simply don't have the luxury to waste money on poor quality comics I'm never gonna read for the 2nd time.
This means I have to read the whole story as a scanlation/free stuff to decide whether the comic is 'good enough' for me to go into my 'I'm gonna buy this' list.
If not for the sites where I can read stuff for free, I wouldn't know any of the comics existed that I have *already* bought or *will* buy in the future. Because I wouldn't waste time to read free samples, they're simply not sufficient to gauge whether the comic meets my personal standards/is truly of good quality.
I'm guessing there are thousands of people with similar thinking like mine all over the world or with somewhat different reasoning but same outcome - there are readers who buy a comic *after* reading it for free.
My guess is that combined across the world, at least a few millions $ worth of comics get purchased this way per year. If these free sites suddenly disappear, those millions would disappear, too. And there would be no free advertising all over the world (which brings a more new buyers every year).
There are obviously negatives sides to sites similar as these, there are no argues there. But there are positive sides as well, e.g.:
-Their comics and names get advertised all over the world for free (including countries where yaoi is forbidden), publishing companies would have to waste billions to accomplish what is now done for free (and publishing companies would never do that as it wouldn't be financially feasible).
-This free advertisement helps to reach new paying readers in various countries every year, who otherwise would spend their money elsewhere instead of buying unknown yaoi comics.
-Authors could use their social media accounts to connect to their English speaking audience, to forge a bond with them (including by adjusting their plotlines/character development to western audience), which would in turn encourage more western readers to buy their comics.
There will always be people who will not be paying for what they're reading, whether it's because of free sites or because their best friend lent them a comic, or gazillion other reasons. The author will not get paid in such situations either way - this part can never be controlled. What can be 'controlled' i.e. encouraged are the readers who do buy comics after reading free stuff.
It's all about turning a disadvantage into an advantage and there are plenty of options that authors and publishing companies could explore to broaden their target audience.
Ultimately, it's the author's choice what they want to do - are they happy with their current target audience or would they like to expand it? Do they want to try to readjust their current working model and attempt different approaches or are they good with the way things are for them now (i.e. they don't want to change anything). And so on.
I understand frustration and disappointment the authors must be feeling, I truly do and feel sorry for them. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world, no matter how much we would wish for it. If we would, readers would be able to afford to pay for what they read and wouldn't feel forced to cut corners with existence of such sites.

where can i find the raws?

nevermind i got them. if someone’s interested https://funbe.life/BJ_알렉스_외전_1화.html

i can’t believe there are people who read the warning (it’s literally before the actual 1st chapter starts), decided to read the chapter anyway and then rated it 1/5 just because the warning turned out to be real

man why did u only rate it 1 just because of its genre? like? that just doesn’t even make sense. would you shit on chili for making your food spicy? would you sue someone who had just saved your life?
now i’m not by all means endorsing this manga is the best or anything, i just would like to know your thought process as to your confusing behavior.

what the hell. who rated it 5 stars out of 5?
some random suspicious guy with horns appears right before you out of nowhere, rapes you and all you do is being like kyaaa >.< you don’t even question his story about being a demon and looking for his pregnant male lover’s reincarnation. moreover you’re even deciding to help him find that person. the plot is so shitty i swear. and what about the children? where did they go when he was unconsious and being raped? i can’t believe there are people who like it, the smut isn’t even that good

first of all this app makes no sense. leaving the tasks aside, mind reading? cameras everywhere? i don’t know how the author is going to explain it. like i get it - it’s just an excuse for them having sex but still, some logic would be nice.
next: i was surprised when nohae realised he’s falling in love with yeong. like i got a vibe from him that he’s loved him ever since they were in highschool. you know, jokingly asking him to date him, being so close, sulking because he didn’t want to kiss him. i expected some one-sided love. not that i mind tho.
another thing i don’t get is why they gave dobin the app. especially when yeong likes sex with nohae so it can always be an excuse for him. also he knows it can ruin someone’s life so it’s even weirder to pass it on someone just because he saw you in an intimate situation with your friend. is this a new way of saying „no homo bro”? well there’re propably some 3some scenes coming and the author had to give us some reason but wouldn’t it be better just to send a task then? like a special one, where there are three people needed?
last but not least: i love yeong. even though he was really innocent at the beginning, he’s going to get the dick he wants now. and the smut scenes are well-drawn so after all the series is pretty good. can’t wait for the next season

if someone is interested it’s going to be release in english next year!! https://twitter.com/sublimemanga/status/1228446288712093697?s=21
