not necessarily. Because in bdsm plays consent takes another form. It would have been rape if he continued after he said the safe word.

There's this thing called consensual non consent that is normally seen as a BDSM thing but that's not always the case. Couples often do this in cases like what you saw in the beginning of the chapter, this is actually pretty normal within relationships (despite one or more parties not directly consenting). It's not rape if prior consent was established be it verbally or not; to put it simply, if this is seen as something that is okay in the relationship. Hopefully you get where I'm coming from and if you don't hopefully you get into a comfy enough relationship that can help you understand better

I completely understand that and I don't just turn a 'blind eye' to these sort of things but there are some things that are seen as okay in certain relationships when you hit a certain threshold. But you're right, this wasn't directly relayed to the readers so it can't be assumed
