(this is all my own interpretation btw, feel free to share your's guys) I didn't check the other chapters rn but the blue petals always appear when mc feels sad & I think it has to do something with his [TW] thoughts to end his life - it may be his hallucination due to the sleeping pills he always takes and his depression; and since in this chapter the ml caught a blue petal, I interpreted it as him trying to make mc stay alive & comfort him, iykwim? (づ￣ ³￣)づ
Blue rose petals mean unrequited love. Him grabbing and scrunching it symbolises he actually loves him back. It’s incredible symbolism. The fact he’s seen them and only he has seen them until now means that no one has been willing to look at him for who he is including his loneliness but now he has someone who will. It’s cute!

Generally, blue flower petals are good! Serenity, true love, friendship, everlasting peace. Different flowers have different meanings and I’m only saying blue rose because that’s the petal I saw. Black roses mean death or tragedy so you aren’t far off. Wilted roses mean grief so you technically can consider him scrunching up the petal as him grieving but I’d much rather be optimistic and rely on the power of blue lmao XD I’m hoping the blue gives us true love from unrequited love!
