I think cutting him off will be better for sanya. His brother is toxic for him and sanya is not in the right mental place to be caring about his brother all the time. His brother just sat in his room playing all day not doing anything while sanya was working and doing everything and now that sanya has failed and is depressed his brother is acting like he was always there for him when he wasn't. I completely understand why sanya would want to cut him off.
