okay the blonde haired one is actually a girl or not? because if not its so annoying how she keeps misgendering him

Omgg She’s not being transphobic, her intentions are very clear. She still treating him as a guy, but genuinely thinks Ru-da is a girl as per Webtoon trends. Seriously everyone likes to throw around this word like its some kind of magic weapon, it’s so annoying. We all know what transphobia looks like and this is not it.

Well, i actually find it quite funny. Assuming the "new character" who is really pretty to be a girl dressing as a boy to run away from whatever it is. Like isn't it fun that dan I's actions kinda resembles breaking the 4th wall like in the animes. Lol whatever just saying tho. I may be wrong but that's how i see it hehe. ( ̄∇ ̄")

This is not “misgendering”. Jesus Christ. And stop applying your Western ideals onto a Korean webtoon— you know that this isn’t a thing in Asian cultures, right? Even if the author was truly (but unintentionally) “misgendering” him, you need to understand that we — Asians born and bred in Asia — are raised up in very different cultures and world views. The translator already made it clear that she assumes he’s a girl because of webtoon trends, which is a sound reason enough. This world doesn’t revolve around Western ideas all the time, much less ALWAYS be sensitive to whatever little thing that can be misconstrued as an offence to your culture.

@flirtart Yeah, I understand where you’re coming from. But honestly they haven’t actually addressed Ru-Da’s gender in the comic yet. Just because someone looks like a boy doesn’t mean that they are one or identify as one. So if we’re really going to talk about mis-gendering and transphobia we have to look at the full context of the situation before strong labels like these are applied.

From what u know, Dani referring to Ruda as "she" is actually a translator choice.
I remember reading a tsn that author actually uses a gender neutral word when referring to the character (as it is normal in Asian languages, where it's context and not the word itself that gives it meaning).
So... Not interested in voicing an opinion, but thought you should have all the facts...
i felt so relieved when dongha didnt continued thank god they didnt romanticized rape
