Bored the heck out of his mind but I doubt it cause the guy warned him but hallucination is plausible cause he jumped. Open ending would be all of it was real and Todd was really the shape shifting coyote and he jumped and they are happy together. I’m gaslighting myself to believe the latter. It could be possible he hallucinated but Todd was the devil and Dennis was one of his victims he took his soul after he jumped thats very much the story the wolf preys on the innocent oblivious sheep so yeah at the end his soul is with Todd
