I haven’t started season one yet, but I just have to say that I hope they lighten the vibe in the manhwa because he’s basically in an abusive relationship in the novel. I feel so bad for the MC. He may be a bonehead, but he doesn’t deserve the treatment he’s getting from the ML.

I scanned the raws, and the mind break here is next level. I can’t help but appreciate it, tbh. In most manhwa, you would see the mc getting over a gang rape by the next chapter. Not sure what happened to the childhood friend, though. Maybe I was scrolling too fast, but he disappeared after he found the mc and his brother with those guys towards the end.
Edit: Wait, I looked again. I think the childhood friend died in that warehouse fire. :( And I think the crazy ml sent the younger brother overseas? I also missed the fact that the ml kept the mc confined to that hospital for several months in a room without a window, so he couldn’t even keep track of time. That’s what broke his mind further.
Edit 2: Okay, looked once more, and the childhood friend is alive? He’s shown a video of the friend (with a ponytail now?) in a hospital watching over a body he thinks is the mc? I think he believes that the warehouse fire put the mc in a coma, and he sits by that bedside waiting for him to wake up? Idk how he could mistake the person in the hospital bed for the mc, though. Oh, and the brother is in school overseas getting everything paid for by the crazy ml, and he thinks that the mc died in the fire and blames himself. The mc tries to leave the ml when he finds this out, but he’s developed such severe anxiety by this point that when he leaves the ml’s home, he pretty much has a breakdown. He can’t handle being around crowds of people and pretty much views the ml’s place as his safe space, so he runs back to the ml where he’s taken to the bedroom, and we see that his mind has been completely broken.
I recently read another manga that had some insane workplace drama where the MC and ML were made to feel bad over a female character’s crush. Someone was explaining in the replies how it was cultural, but fuck that. Have some dignity, my god.
I feel like Japanese BL authors handle rape way worse than Korean authors. Japanese authors seem to view rape/rapists in a more humorous way for some reason. It’s very weird. Why is that guy in the doctor’s office? Like? Why is he talking about naming the baby?

The author is pretty shitty, so I think the second ML will end up trying to force a new bond on the MC (I skipped a lot of chapters, so I’m not sure if a new bond can even be formed, but if possible, that’s definitely the route this is going).
