Honestly, I don't know if this will make sense, but right now I don't see the bottom (MC) as a bottom. No matter what the cover is or who the ML is, since the only time the MC has 'bottomed' was when he was raped and violated, I see the MC as a top because of his past relationship, and thinking of him as a bottom—I find—is just not who he is. None of them are strong, authors remove their sense of respect to oneself and boundaries just so their top can stay loveable by audiences and their actions are excused because the "bottom was fine" or "bottom forgave them" like okay I haven't updated my research in awhile on this but this lol but you get the gist
