I mean I do appreciate different bars. This side story definitely pandered hard to pain kinks, degradation kinks and and cnc kinks and permanent alterations in some ones ability to exist in a relationship due to life long grooming and trauma, it was rough though for me personally.
It is indeed a representation of some people's reality... but it didn't sit well with me honestly. You can have kinks but need to learn how to care for you and your partner, specially within those practices. With them I felt like it was more of a psychological trauma/ manipulation/gaslighting than a kink of bdsm.
Well look. Nobody who needs to learn anything or needs to be told what to do or how to live their lives should be reading smut bc that would mean they are a minor. I dont subscribe to the infantilation of women reading smut or that it "normalizes abuse" rhetoric. If a child was being neglected and wandered into smut it'd be normalization of abuse for the minor, at the fault of the parent. I do not subscribe to censoring adult womens smut bc women are not smart enough to seperate fictional stories but real people and real relationships. If I lived in the era that school of thought was popular, I'd be a suffrage spinster.

I think MC thought he didn't really mean so much for the ML, that he would move on without him now that he's popular and there's a new guide, plus how information has been kept from him he feels unimportant: aka ML was using him to fulfill a goal and now that it's met lie about truths just for simplicity..... oh and MC left his phone and immediately ish met the old man who seems to also go to the nearest town that's far from his house. ML never went with old man to the town until now
